Woman claims she was repeatedly raped by bomoh after seeking help for supernatural woe

SUNGAI PETANI (25/01/2017): A 31-year-old woman, who had sought a bomoh's help to stop a series of supernatural disturbances, claimed that she was raped by him on several occasions last year.

The mother-of-four claimed that the bomoh from Bedong had placed a charm on her, and only came to the realisation that she had been sexually attacked by him, earlier this month. The woman first visited the bomoh in February last year, to seek his help in bringing an end to several 'ghostly disturbances'.

Her husband had accompanied her during the visit. The bomoh had given her a 'spell' to recite daily in order to bring an end to the disturbances. However, her condition became worse, and she would go into uncontrollable fits as if she was possessed.

She claimed that she subsequently felt a strong urge to visit the bomoh and as such, sought his help on a weekly basis. She claimed that in March last year, during one of the visits to his home in Kampung Bukit Baru Ayer Nasi, Semeling, the bomoh raped her for the first time.

The woman claimed that she was in a half-conscious state when the rape took place. She claimed that the rapes continued until July, when she realised that she was three-months pregnant.

She said the pregnancy 'snapped' her out of the supposed charm, and began to suspect that the bomoh had taken advantage of her on past occasions.

She stopped going to the bomoh, but did not lodge a police report out of fear. However, last December, the bomoh contacted her, and told her to see him to resume her 'treatment' after she had given birth. The woman claimed that when she refused, the man threatened her.

She said after she began seeking treatment elsewhere, she regained full memory what actually transpired, and realised that she had been raped by the bomoh.

Kuala Muda police chief Assistant Commissioner Md Zuker Md Isa said the woman only lodged a police report yesterday evening (Tuesday). At press time, it is unknown whether the bomoh had been hauled up for questioning.
