Mum disowns son who borrowed from Ah Long

KUALA LUMPUR (31/12/2016): A woman broke into tears as she made public her decision to disown her son who borrowed money from loan sharks to pay for his gambling debts.
“He makes me really angry. I don’t feel like talking about my son anymore. I feel so mad when I talk about him,” Yap Yok Yen said, choking on her words.
Yap, 63, was at a press conference yesterday accompanied by MCA Public Services and Complaints Department chief Datuk Seri Michael Chong.
“I am so upset ... I cannot sleep well because of him. I do not want to worry about him anymore,” she said.
For the past two years, she claimed that loan sharks had gone to their house frequently.
Yap said her family helped him at least five times to settle his debts amounting to RM41,000 with money that was borrowed from relatives.
The 39-year-old son disappeared from their home in November, she said, adding that his wife had also ran away with their four children.

Chong said the family had lodged a police report at the Ampang Jaya police station on Dec 28.
