Police arrest four men over Yong Peng murder

JOHOR BARU --- Police have arrested four men in connection to the murder of a 33-year-old security guard who was found in an oil palm estate in Yong Peng.

Johor police chief Comm Datuk Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd said three of the men were nabbed in Batu Pahat on April 1 while the remaining man was arrested at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 for trying to flee to China on Sunday.

He said the suspects were aged between 24 and 34 years old.

"The suspects will be remanded under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code for investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder," he said in a statement here.

The victim, a 33-year-old security guard identified as Noor Azee Abdul Rahman, was believed to have been murdered before being dumped at the estate on March 31.

He was reported missing last Wednesday before an estate worker found his body at the Jalan Muar-Yong Peng estate.

He was found with his hands tied behind his back with a slash wound at his neck.

Social media went rife with speculations with some netizens claiming that they had witnessed the incident.

Comm Wan Najmuddin also urged the public not to believe rumours spread on Facebook and other social media portals.

Those with information pertaining the case should head to the nearest police station or call the police hotline at 07-2212 999.
