7-Eleven outlet robbed by 4 knife-wielding men

KUCHING --- A 7-Eleven outlet at Jalan Canna was robbed early Monday by what is believed to be the same four persons who struck nearly two weeks ago.

The latest incident happened around 4am when four knife-wielding men arrived at the premises on two motorcycles, before rushing to the counter where they threatened the two male staff on duty.

They grabbed nearly all the cigarettes in the display rack worth over RM4,000 along with RM150 cash and nearly RM400 worth of merchandise before escaping.

The two workers, who were not hurt in the 4am robbery, lodged a police report later that day.

In a similar incident at the same outlet on March 16, four armed men showed up around 4.30am and made off with RM3,000 worth of cigarettes, over RM1,500 in cash as well as food items.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

In an unrelated incident, a kuih seller fell victim to a snatch thief who robbed her of two gold necklaces in front of her house early yesterday morning.

The 52-year-old woman was minding her stall at the compound of her house in Kampung Tabuan Hilir when a man she recognised approached her around 6.30am and pulled the two gold necklaces she was wearing.

She said he pulled so forcefully that her head hit her stall and fell to the ground.

The man then ran towards a motorcycle where an accomplice was waiting, escaping with her necklace claimed to be worth about RM20,000.

Police are investigating after a report was made.
