Two Women Lose Jewellery To Parang Gang



SUNGAI PETANI --- Two women were robbed of their jewellery by four men armed with parang in snatch theft incidents in Taman Nilam and Taman Ria Jaya, this morning.

Kuala Muda district police chief, ACP Md Zukir Md Isa said in the incident in Taman Nilam at 8.40 am, a woman was talking with a neighbour in front of the house when approached by four men on two motorcycles.

"One of the men pointed a parang and snatched her gold bracelet. They also snatched a bracelet worn by her daughter who rushed out after hearing the commotion outside."

The 58 year-old woman suffered minor injuries.

In another incident at 8.30 am in Taman Ria Jaya, a woman lost her gold bracelet, also to four armed men.

"The 47-year-old woman was slightly injured in the incident," Md Zukir told Bernama today.

He said in yet another incident in Taman Bakar Arang, at 9.15 am, a woman survived an attempted snatch theft.

The 54-year-old woman is believed to be the victim of the same robbers.
