Police launch manhunt for rapist teacher

SHAH ALAM --- Police are on a manhunt for a 25-year history teacher who allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl five times in 2012.

The alleged rape was said to have taken place at a tuition centre in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam.

Shah Alam police chief ACP Shafien Mamat said the teacher attempted to rape the girl in February 2012 but she managed to escape from his clutches.

However, he added, the teacher's second attempt succeeded the following month after the tuition class and subsequently he was alleged to have raped her between March and May about five times.

Shafien said the girl lodged a report on Dec 18 last year after confiding the matter to her father in October.

The teacher, he added, had promised to surrender himself but went missing and could not be contacted.
